permitting
So, I was sent this and asked for my thoughts. Would I critique it for the timing? Maybe point out how they’re opening a new location while locked in a fraud and breach of contract lawsuit? How they are comparing their dispensary to a gift from God? Or how the same person just went on record about their financial struggles?
But honestly, that’s not what stands out to me.
As I go down this road, I can’t help but notice how social equity winners are put through endless hurdles just to get basic approvals. Craft growers are waiting years for permits. But for someone with deep insider connections? One of Illinois’ original big players just drops a modular box on-site, with zero hassle, and it’ll be open in a month?
Forget what this says about nuEra Cannabis – what does this say about the State of Illinois and the Illinois Department of Agriculture or the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation? In my opinion this screams corruption and sandbagging to me. If I pulled up approval records for every dispensary, comparing timelines, would we see just how wide this gap is?
Seems to me that if you have the right connections and cash flow, you can sidestep the hoops everyone else is forced to jump through. Just my opinion… but is anyone else seeing these red flags?
Tune into F'nAround – let’s keep making noise and exposing the reality when the state of Illinois under JB Pritzker’s “business as usual” only applies to those with deep pockets.
