aunt martha’s

After my last post about systemic corruption, I was sent a few articles about Aunt Martha's Health & Wellness Integrated Care Center, a facility that was supposed to be a model for youth care but barely made local headlines for allegations of abuse, neglect, and even trafficking. Naturally, I started digging, and the more I found, the clearer it became this should have been a massive national scandal months ago.
But it wasn’t. It barely made a ripple. Some articles, some posts, some press, some political conversations, but no major outrage. No public reckoning. No national media storm. Strange, isn’t it?
Why? Because Governor JB Pritzker and his administration backed it. The timeline is telling, it broke before his VP ambitions, before the Chicago Democratic National Committee convention, and then again right before the presidential election. I'm guessing the system wasn’t just slow to act; it probably actively buried it.
A facility with serious abuse allegations got swept under the rug, while the same regulatory bodies that are supposed to protect the public looked like they committed systemic corruption and covered it up. Meanwhile, Illinois media went silent, and major corporations kept sponsoring and partnering like nothing ever happened.
But sure, tell me again why we don’t need Department of Government Efficiency-backed transparency, regulatory accountability, and a public that actually knows what’s going on.
Corruption is like dominos. One falls, and suddenly the whole thing collapses. And this? This is just another piece of the State of Illinois machine that was never supposed to be exposed.
For your personal opinions here’s who was still attached to this facility even after the scandal broke sponsoring their gala like nothing happened:
Wintrust Financial Corporation, Taft, The Prairie Consulting Group, Meza Law, Lopez & Co., Certified Public Accountants, Public Sector Solutions, The Roosevelt Group, Reyes Kurson, Ltd., The Miramar Group, Marquette Hamlin Group, Labcorp, HAP, Inc., George Cardenas, Alliant Insurance Services, WSP, TAC 213, MK Industries, Inc., Mercury, Med-Call Healthcare, dotpress .us, Chicago Cleaning Concierge, Cabrera Capital Markets, The Arkes Family Foundation, ACS Health Care Consultants, USI Insurance Services, Loretto Hospital, FORVIS, Basinger’s Pharmacy, Ann Marchetti & Co., Aetna International, and probably more not listed
Largest One-Time Donor happened before it broke but worth noting: MacKenzie Scott(yes, Bezos' ex)
But don’t worry, I’m sure none of them knew. Just like nobody ever knows. They didn’t see the news, didn’t read the articles, didn’t ask questions but they’ll throw money at a gala that had a facility that shut down after these allegations before the gala.
You don’t close a facility over just allegations. Would you?
Read for yourself. Ask the questions. Then tell me again how this state isn’t built on corruption.
As always I'll keep talking about it fnaround.com and dropping the breadcrumbs...
